Lead or join a Quest Programme: a focused, collaborative project that turns promising thinking into practical action for schools, families and young people across the UK.
We are looking for thoughtful, creative people with the insight, evidence or lived experience to strengthen support for learners whose abilities and needs are too often missed.
Across the UK, many children and young people with High Learning Potential (HLP) and Dual or Multiple Exceptionality (DME) are still not fully recognised. Some have strengths that mask their support needs; others have special educational needs and disabilities that mask their abilities. The result can be under-identification, low expectations and missed opportunities.
A Quest Programme brings together people who want to do something practical about this. Each Quest explores one focused issue — for example assessment, family support, professional learning, inclusive practice, language and labelling, wellbeing, transition, or navigation of SEND systems — and develops ideas that can influence practice, resources or future projects.

Who we’re looking for: educators, parents and carers, researchers, practitioners, young people, advocates, employers, funders and others who can help turn insight into practical change.
A Quest normally runs for around six months. Participants meet approximately monthly to explore the topic, test assumptions, share evidence and shape a practical outcome.
You can apply with a developed proposal or an early-stage idea that would benefit from discussion with innovative thinkers.

You do not need a fully developed project plan. We are interested in strong questions, thoughtful ideas and proposals that could lead to practical benefits for children and young people with HLP and/or DME.
